The DOMINE Index

DOMINE is the discipline of “sensory organs and diagnosis” in the HCT architecture. It reveals an organization's current relational and operational form, and by measuring human-centric maturity on a 0-100 scale it brings mathematical clarity to the transformation.

This is not a questionnaire. It is an X-ray that puts the principle “you cannot transform what you cannot measure” into practice, and feeds the roadmap.

The diagnostic approach

A corporate X-ray: reveal the current form

Like the measurements a tailor takes before cutting, the DOMINE Index shows “whether the cloth fits the body”. Measurement is where a transformation starts, because the right intervention can only be chosen once the root cause is visible.

The DOMINE Index: measuring human-centric maturity and the diagnostic approach

The model

A whole-system analysis across six dimensions

To measure how efficiently a transformation runs without losing its human focus, DOMINE analyses corporate maturity across the D-O-M-I-N-E dimensions.

D — Transformation & Leadership (V10 integration)

How far senior management owns it; how deeply will, algorithmic communication and the leadership principles have reached into the organization.

O — Operational Excellence

Do processes exist to smooth the human experience, or to manage internal bureaucracy?

M — Customer & Human Experience (the PRM focus)

The move from a transaction focus to a relationship focus; the depth of the bond built with employees and customers.

I — Collaborative Structure

A collaborative structure is an ecosystem where information flows freely and teams support each other towards a shared vision. This dimension measures how far the organization has left "self-interest" behind and acts with "one collective mind".

N — Causality & Data Analytics

Is data used to report the past, or is it becoming a proactive mind that anticipates human needs?

E — Impact & Sustainability (CLV)

How does the total value created show up in relational and social sustainability, beyond financial profit?

Diagnosis

A resistance map of the status quo

DOMINE does not only produce a score; it also marks the knots that slow a transformation down, so actions attach to root causes rather than symptoms.

The causality approach

A language of measurement focused not on outcomes (low sales, say) but on the root causes that produce them, which makes improvement systematic.

Coordinate analysis

Blockages are located not through “general” commentary but with a coordinate as precise as a square on a chessboard. That clarity speeds up prioritisation.

The Silo Effect

The damage that disconnection between units does to human bonds becomes visible.

Technology Obesity

The points where unnecessary software has made processes cumbersome are marked.

Leadership Blindness

The areas where a title has overtaken the will to lead are identified.

Transformation & Responsibility

Transformation starts with responsibility. Who is responsible for it becomes clear.

The output

Maturity levels

The index result places the organization on the maturity pyramid. That position decides “where the roadmap starts”.

Reactive (Chaotic)

A structure that reacts once a problem appears; without measurement and diagnosis, improvement becomes a matter of chance.

Operational (Mechanical)

Process-driven, but weak on “spirit and DNA”; speed can consume effectiveness.

Relational (the PRM stage)

Begins to put people at the centre; awareness of building bonds grows and the discipline becomes visible.

HCT Architect (dominating)

Transformation becomes culture; the system is run on data and the game is set up by the organization itself.

What does the DOMINE report feed into?

In the approach set out in the book, DOMINE is the foundation of the roadmap (the action plan and adaptation strategy). Score and diagnosis come together with feedback, and improvement steps are prioritised through the lens of “human impact” and “feasibility”.
